I know that its not officially mothers’ day but as a mother, I think its always a good time to show a little appreciation for all mothers! It seems that no matter how hard we work or what we do, we somehow still expect more from ourselves, feeling like we’ re not doing enough or doing it good enough etc. But the truth is, we do a hell of a job! We love, support, disciple, feed, hug, wipe tears, laugh at jokes that aren’t funny, we clean and iron, pickup and drop off, we are the alarm clock, the guardian, fashion consultant and confidant and best friend. And I just want to remind us to give ourselves a break, there is no other person paid or unpaid that can do what we do even on our worse day! Am I ranting? ! I hope not, I’m just passionate about who we are and what we do! Lets make it a practice to remind ourselves and each other of just how great we are everyday! Start now, share one “motherly” thing that you do that makes you a great mom…me first!
“I’m a great mom because… I make it a point to encourage my girls and make them feel good about themselves especially when they’ve had a bad day.”
Today, I need the strength of spirit and mind to get some things done that I have been putting off for awhile. I’m pulling my strength from God and knowing how important these things are and how getting them done will make things better for someone other than myself.
I’ve also found that, if we give what it is we need to someone else, we soon realize that we were never without it in the first place. Click to tweet!
What do you need today?!
Summer 2013 is over. But here in Miami its almost impossible to tell one season from the next, they all feel like Summer! So, here at my house this Summer as been wonderfully busy and full of surprises!
This year my baby girl said good bye to fourth grade. We have this tradition at the end of every school year where we release a balloon in the air as a symbol to mark the end of that school year and to announce the beginning of Summer vacation!
I LOVE THIS PICTURE!!
This Summer Sundari attend Miami Children’s Theater where she played the Pink Fairy- Flora in Sleeping Beauty and she play Grace in Annie!
Broadway, here she comes!
Now my oldest daughter Jeannie turned 17 over the Summer, took her graduation pics and got her first job!
Summer goes so fast and so do our kids. Before you know it they’ll be grown and gone but for now they are in their rooms safe and sound enjoying their Labor Day vacation. I have to remind myself to breathe in every moment!
